A significant amount of the sun's energy that reaches the earth is absorbed by the oceans. This helps achieve a comfortable balance that makes the planet livable. It also means the oceans are being impacted by rising global temperatures. In fact, 90% of all the extra heat created by global warming is being absorbed by the ocean. This extra heat is resulting in the survival of new invasive species, changing habitats, and even causing more storms.
