new4.gif (987 bytes) The Birches at Ben Eoin, Nova Scotia

The Birches at Ben Eoin are a fine new addition to the ski scene in this part of Cape Breton. This luxury country inn is just minutes from the ski hill and has 10 elegantly appointed guest rooms and 2 luxury suites. They serve gourmet food and is located just 20 minutes from Sydney so you can visit the whole eastern part of Cape Breton from a base at the Birches. We visited here in the winter but it gets most of its business in the summer. For more information contact and click Birches for more images.

new4.gif (987 bytes)Larsen's Log Lodge, Millville New Brunswick

We came across this fine place while on a ski trip through New Brunswick. What impressed me most was that our room had a private sauna and hot tub. In fact, it is the only location in New Brunswick where each room has its own private hot tub. We had a gourmet dinner and breakfast while skiing at nearby Crabbe Mountain. Larsen's Log Lodge is located close to Fredericton so also has lots of activities available in the summer as well. For more information contact: Click Log for more images.

new4.gif (987 bytes) Auberge les Jardins Inn, Edmondston, New Brunswick

We came across this inn while skiing at Mt Farlange in Edmondston, New Brunswick. We were greeted by name at the check in before we had even introduced ourselves by the owners who thought we looked like skiers. They even joined us for supper and helped recommend some of their local specialities. By day we x-country skied in the provincial park opposite to the Auberge and we did some night skiing at Mt Farlange which was just a few minutes away. For more information see and click Auberge for more pictures.

new4.gif (987 bytes)Noble House, Kensington, PEI

We stayed at the Noble House on a recent sea kayak trip to PEI. This fine old home has had a complete makeover by the owners and they have done a superb job. The location is ideal for those people wishing to explore the Malpaque Bay area of PEI and we did a sea kayak expedition there which included a visit to Ram Island with its multitude of sea birds. This is also the area to try the famous Malpaque oysters at a local restaurant. This 4 star Bed and Breakfast has sweeping ocean views and fabulous gardens. For more information contact the Noble House at 902-836-4380. For more images of the area Click Noble

For those who like to “play hard and sleep soft” you couldn’t do much better than this new inn fashioned after a Southern Manor offering exquisite “southern hospitality”.  Drinking morning coffee with fresh muffins from your own private 25 meter square balcony overlooking the ocean is just one feature of this outstanding inn.
